Ingredients

Tuvar Dal - ½ Cup
Methi Leaves(Fenugreek) – 2 - 3 bunches
Dill Leaves/Sabsige soppu – ½ bunch
Mustard Seeds – ½  tsp
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
Green Chillies – 3 – chopped
Curry Leaves – 8 – 10
Garlic cloves – 6-8 - crushed
Onion – 1 small
Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Water as needed
Salt
Coriander Leaves for garnishing.


Method

Pressure cook dal with around 3 cups of water up to 6-8 whistles. Dal should be cooked well that it almost should become into a paste. Keep aside.
Heat oil. in a pan and add mustard and cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add green chillies, curry leaves, garlic and saute  Add onion and fry it till it turns golden brown. Now add Methi leaves and dill leaves and fry it well. Add cooked dal and turmeric powder. Add around 1 cup of water and let it come to a boil. Add salt and check for seasoning. Cook for 2 mins on high flame till you get the desired consistency. Garnish it with coriander leaves.


My Notes

ü  You can avoid using dill leaves. But it tastes better with it.

ü  The amount of oil, salt, and spice can be varied according to your taste and eating habits. This measurement works well for me and my family
