For making chutney
Onion – 1 Large sliced
Garlic cloves – 2
Dry red chillies – 2
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Salt
Oil – 2 tbsp
Water as needed
For Tempering
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – 5-6
Dry red chillies - 1
Method
Take a pan and heat oil. Add onion, garlic, dry red chillies, turmeric powder and salt. Saute it till the onion becomes soft and turns translucent. Grind this mixture into a paste. Add 1 tbsp water if needed.
Now for tempering take another pan and add oil. To this add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add curry leaves and red chilli and saute it for a few secs. Add this mixture to the chutney and give it a mix. Serve with dosa or idlis.

ü The amount of oil, salt and spices can be varied according to your taste and eating habits. This measurement works well for me and my family.
